The successful practitioner will operate advanced radiotherapy treatment machinery, delivering accurate and compassionate radiation therapy to patients diagnosed with various oncological malignancies.

Core Responsibilities & Clinical Duties:

  • Prepare and deliver accurate external beam radiotherapy treatments utilizing modern Linear Accelerators (Linacs), image-guided radiotherapy (IGRT), and volumetric modulated arc therapy (VMAT).
  • Accurately verify patient alignment and positioning using advanced kilovoltage (kV) and cone-beam CT (CBCT) imaging systems.
  • Monitor patient side-effects throughout their radiotherapy treatment course and provide expert advice on skin care, nutrition, and symptom management.
  • Collaborate closely with Clinical Oncologists, Medical Physicists, and Dosimetrists to maintain strict quality assurance standards.

Essential Requirements:

  • Full HCPC Registration as a Therapeutic Radiographer.
  • BSc (Hons) in Radiotherapy and Oncology or equivalent qualification.
  • Proven clinical proficiency operating modern Linear Accelerators within an NHS radiotherapy service.
  • Thorough working knowledge of IR(ME)R 2017 legislation and radiation safety protocols.
