This dynamic medical vacancy is designed for a clinical expert capable of delivering top-tier care across both clinical haematology and laboratory haematology. The appointed Consultant will manage a complex portfolio of malignant haemato-oncology (leukaemia, lymphoma, myeloma) and non-malignant blood disorders, functioning as a key pillar within a level-3 BCSH-accredited multidisciplinary environment.
Core Clinical Responsibilities:
- Provide expert clinical management for inpatients and outpatients suffering from diverse haematological malignancies and coagulation disorders.
- Oversee laboratory haematology services, blood bank operations, and the validation of complex blood films and bone marrow aspirates.
- Lead and actively contribute to regional haemato-oncology multidisciplinary team (MDT) meetings to formulate comprehensive treatment protocols.
- Drive forward clinical trials, research initiatives, and the educational supervision of trainee haematologists and scientific staff.
Essential Candidate Requirements:
- Full GMC Registration and entry on the Specialist Register for Haematology (or within 6 months of CCT/CESR).
- Fellowship of the Royal College of Pathologists (FRCPath) or equivalent medical qualification.
