Core Clinical Responsibilities:

  • Deliver expert interpretation of screening and symptomatic mammography, breast ultrasound, and breast MRI scans.
  • Perform interventional diagnostic procedures, including ultrasound-guided core biopsies, stereotactic biopsies, and wire localisations.
  • Play a pivotal role in weekly breast cancer multidisciplinary team (MDT) meetings alongside oncologists and breast surgeons.
  • Contribute to clinical governance, departmental audits, and the training of Specialist Registrars (SpR) and junior medical staff.

Essential Candidate Requirements:

  • Full Registration with the General Medical Council (GMC) and a valid licence to practise.
  • Entry on the GMC Specialist Register for Clinical Radiology, or within 6 months of obtaining a Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) or CESR.
  • FRCR qualification (or equivalent recognised standard) with extensive sub-specialty experience in breast imaging.
