This position is specifically tailored for consultants with a robust background in Paediatric Pathology and specimen dissection. Detailed Clinical Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be expected to integrate seamlessly into the existing pathology team, providing high-quality diagnostic reporting and specimen management. Key duties include:
- Specimen Dissection & Trimming: Comprehensive management of various cases, ensuring precise trimming and preparation.
- Gastrointestinal (GI) Biopsies: High-volume reporting of GI biopsy samples with clinical accuracy.
- General Surgical Pathology: Reporting on simple surgical cases, including but not limited to:
- Appendix, Tonsils, and Cysts.
- Bowel resections from IBD (Inflammatory Bowel Disease) cases.
- Foreskin and simple skin lesions.
- Kidney resections.
Essential Criteria & Qualifications
To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following stringent requirements:
- GMC Registration: Full and specialist registration with a current License to Practise.
- Specialist Expertise: A proven track record in Paediatric Histopathology is mandatory.
- CV Requirement: Only candidates submitting Paediatric-specific CVs will be considered. CVs that do not explicitly demonstrate experience in the aforementioned paediatric tumour trimming and reporting will be disregarded.
- Right to Work: Valid right to work in the United Kingdom.
