Evolve Staffing Ltd. is currently seeking an experienced and dedicated Specialist Registrar (StR) specializing in Obstetrics and Gynaecology for a high-priority locum placement within a prominent NHS Hospital in Bedfordshire. This is an excellent opportunity for a Middle Grade doctor to secure a consistent block of shifts or flexible ad-hoc requirements in a supportive and high-performing clinical environment. Key Clinical Responsibilities

  • Labour Ward Management: Providing senior clinical oversight on the Labour Ward, including the management of high-risk deliveries, instrumental births, and emergency Caesarean sections.
  • Gynaecological Surgery: Assisting and leading in theatre for both elective and emergency gynaecological procedures.
  • Clinical Leadership: Supervise junior doctors (FY1, FY2, and ST1-2) and medical students, ensuring adherence to NHS clinical governance and safety protocols.
  • Outpatient Clinics: Conducting antenatal, postnatal, and gynaecology clinics, providing expert consultation and follow-up care.
  • On-Call Rota: Participating in the Middle Grade on-call rota to ensure 24/7 specialist coverage for the department.

Essential Requirements

  • GMC Registration: Full registration with the General Medical Council and a valid Licence to Practise.
  • Clinical Experience: Minimum of 6 months’ experience at the StR level (ST3+) within an NHS setting.
  • Qualifications: MBBS or equivalent; MRCOG (Part 1 is essential, Part 2/3 is highly desirable).
  • Certifications: Up-to-date ALS, NLS, and PROMPT certification.
  • Compliance: Valid Right to Work in the UK and an enhanced DBS check.
