Company Description: Evolve Psychology Services is an award-winning, NHS and HSE approved independent psychology and neurodevelopmental practice, founded by Dr Laura Powling. The company provides high-quality services to clients across the UK and Ireland, including neurodevelopmental and psychological assessments for adults and children as well as expert witness assessments for the courts and parole boards, assessments in criminal/prison law, family law, immigration law, and medico-legal cases. We have a proven track record of providing high quality assessments and delivering on NHS contracts.

Role Description: This is an exciting and valuable full-time role for a team lead within a busy service, providing invaluable assessments to families and adults. This is a hybrid role located in Norwich for a suitably qualified clinician working as a team lead within the Evolve Neurodevelopmental Assessment Team for adults and children referred for Autism and/or ADHD assessments via NHS Patient choice and their GP.

The role requires conducting and overseeing comprehensive specialist assessments including diagnostic assessments of individuals with suspected Autism and/or ADHD using established diagnostic tools. Assessments of mental health conditions may also be required. Assessments are undertaken on behalf of the NHS via GP referral.

The clinician is also responsible for writing up assessment reports in a timely and professional manner, as well as providing appropriate recommendations and interventions. Additionally, the clinician will be involved in supervising and supporting junior staff members.

Main responsibilities include:

  • Being a point of contact for all matters related to the day-to-day running of the clinic.
  • Being familiar with all the resources (e.g. questionnaires) and components (e.g. cognitive assessment) that support the assessment process and guiding other clinicians.
  • Having a clinical overview of all the current assessment cases in the clinic, ensuring each case is led by a particular clinician, that there is a clear plan for each, and that there is no drift.
  • Liaising with ND admin about new cohorts of cases – admin can do the bookings but helpful for clinical oversight to make sure logistics are suitable from a clinical point of view, avoiding overbooking clinicians and fair allocation of work.
  • Problem-solving issues in a clinic (e.g. clinician sickness/reallocation of cases/redistributing time).
  • Supporting newer members of the team to make transition into the work/support development of skills/offering support where needed.
  • Identifying issues in the clinic processes that may need improvement and working with senior leadership/management to resolve; developing new resources that will support and enhance the clinics.
  • Escalating issues and working with senior leadership/management to resolve.
  • Chairing MDT discussions.
  • Identifying training needs/topics for teams and individuals and signposting/discussing with senior leadership/management.

Salary: £50,000 - £60,000

Qualifications:

  • HCPC registered Practitioner Psychologist, Speech and Language Therapist, Occupational Therapist or NMC registered nurse or Neurodevelopmental practitioner experience with specialist training.
  • Must be eligible to work in the UK.
  • Experience in conducting diagnostic Neurodevelopmental/Specialist developmental assessments with children and/or adults.
  • Experience working with children and/or adults with neurodevelopmental disorders or mental health difficulties in a clinical setting.
  • Knowledge of DSM-5 diagnostic criteria and appropriate assessment tools for Autism and ADHD.
  • Knowledge of differential diagnosis ADOS-2/ADI-R trained.
  • Ideally QB Trained.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Experience in report writing and record keeping.
  • Additional qualifications in relevant areas of Autism and/or ADHD.
