Evolve Psychology Services is an award-winning, NHS and HSE-approved independent psychology and neurodevelopmental practice founded by Dr. Laura Powling. We provide high-quality assessments for children and adults across the UK and Ireland, working with the NHS, private clients, and legal sectors. We are looking for a qualified and experienced Dyslexia and/or Dyscalculia Assessor to join our expanding team, conducting diagnostic assessments for individuals with suspected dyslexia and providing expert recommendations for support. Full-time and part-time roles available in a hybrid setting.
Role Overview
- Conduct comprehensive diagnostic assessments for dyslexia and dyscalculia using established assessment tools and frameworks.
- Provide detailed written reports that meet professional and legal standards, including those required for Disabled Students’ Allowance (DSA) applications.
- Work with children, young people, and adults, tailoring assessments to their specific needs.
- Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with GDPR and professional guidelines.
- Must be able to travel to one of our clinic locations in either Norwich or Newcastle.
Who We’re Looking For
We welcome applications from Specialist Teachers and Educational Psychologists with:
- For Specialist Teachers: Level 7 qualification in dyslexia and/or dyscalculia assessment and support. Active governing body membership from the British Dyslexia Association, PATOSS, or The Dyslexia Guild. A valid Assessment Practising Certificate (APC) from BDA, PATOSS, or The Dyslexia Guild.
- For Educational Psychologists: HCPC registration as a Practitioner Psychologist. Relevant experience and training in SpLDs.
Experience and Skills
- Proven experience in conducting diagnostic assessments for dyslexia and/or dyscalculia in children, students, and/or adults.
- Strong knowledge of DSM-5 diagnostic criteria for Specific Learning Difficulties (SpLD).
- Proficiency in using standardised assessment tools, such as:
- For Dyslexia: WIAT-III or WIAT-4, WISC-V / WAIS-IV or WAIS-V, CTOPP-2, TOWRE-2, GORT-5, DASH.
- For Dyscalculia: WIAT-III or WIAT-4 (maths components), WISC-V / WAIS-IV or WAIS-V, Dyscalculia Screener, Number Sense Screener, KeyMath-3, or other relevant tools.
