We are recruiting for an experienced Machine Shop Supervisor. The successful candidate will oversee daily operations in the machine shop ensuring that production targets are met, you will also be responsible for supervising and managing the team managing workload and driving continuous improvement. Responsibilities: – Leading a team of machinists, setters and operators – Allocating workload and resources in order to meet production schedules – Carrying out team briefings and providing feedback to staff – Planning daily and weekly production activities – Ensuring jobs are completed on time and that they meet quality expectations – Liaising with planning, engineering and maintenance teams – Ensuring stock of raw materials are accurate -Working to quality standards and inspection processes – Carrying out root cause analysis of any defects and putting corrective actions in place – Coordinating machine maintenance schedules with the maintenance team Requirements: – Proven experience of Supervising a machine shop (or similar production environment) – Knowledge of Quality Management systems (ISO 9001) – A strong knowledge of machining processes (Manual and CNC) – Experience using lathes, milling machines etc – Strong leadership abilities – A good understanding of Health & Safety – Excellent communication skills If you would be interested in the position of Machine Shop Supervisor please apply with an up to date CV
