Our client are looking for a CMM Programmer/Inspector to join their ever-expanding team. The core responsibilities will include programming and operating a Zenith CMM machine with Aberlink software and carrying out visual and manual dimensional inspections on machined parts.
Functions and Areas of Responsibility:
- Ability to program and inspect components with all types of materials but principally aluminium, cast iron and steel castings. Ability to operate inspection & measuring equipment.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment, and work within H&S requirements.
- Aiding with the calibration systems, keeping all calibration up to date.
Competencies and Experience:
- Use manual measuring equipment to validate components to drawing specifications.
- Use CMM to measure components and identify any non-conforming components.
- Using inspection measuring equipment such as micrometres, callipers, shadow graph, plug and ring gauges, thread measuring equipment.
- Select the correct gauge type for the tolerance being checked.
- Programming / Setting and operating CMMs to ensure accurate measurements are taken and then completing inspection reports.
- Produce Inspection reports along with ISIR documentation for customers.
- Reading and understanding engineering drawings.
- Maintain paper & electronic records.
- Visual inspection and reporting to required processes and standards.
- Relevant administration duties, work order instructions/testing records.
- Good administrative skills, route card & set up sheets completion to be adhered to.
