The Records Control Assistant / GIS Digitiser plays a critical role in maintaining the accuracy and quality of Evolve's network records. The role combines site-based data capture, records control, and GIS digitisation, converting physical measurements, drawings, maps, and imagery into high-quality digital spatial data. You will support mapping, digital management, spatial analysis, and compliance activities, ensuring the integrity of network records that underpin safe operation, contractor payments, and future planning.
Here’s how you will contribute:
- Field & Records Control Activities
- Travel to network development sites across the operational area to measure laid mains and services pipework.
- Produce accurate as laid drawing packs for digitalisation and records update.
- Undertake as laid drawings for services where required.
- Log accurate statistics for laid pipework to support network records and contractor payment processes.
- Identify, report, and submit network inaccuracies via the Error Management reporting process.
- Ensure compliance targets relevant to the role are consistently achieved.
- Promote and demonstrate safe working behaviours at all times, both within Evolve and with contract partners.
- GIS & Digitisation Activities
- Convert spatial information from site surveys, hand-drawn sketches, maps, plans, drawings, and imagery into accurate digital GIS data.
- Digitise features from scanned maps and survey information.
- Create, edit, and maintain geospatial datasets using GIS software (e.g. ArcGIS).
- Carry out data quality assurance checks, identify digitising errors, and correct inconsistencies.
- Ensure GIS data accuracy, consistency, and adherence to established standards.
- Assist with map production and preparation of spatial data for analysis and reporting.
- Engage with site survey teams, project managers, and other stakeholders as required.
