Evolve IT Recruitment is working with a highly respected financial services organisation seeking an experienced Oracle DBA to join a critical technology function supporting large-scale, business-critical platforms. This is a hands-on role where you’ll take ownership of core Oracle environments, ensuring performance, stability, and security across a complex hybrid estate spanning on-prem and cloud. You’ll be joining a team at the centre of key technology initiatives, including cloud adoption, platform modernisation, and DevOps-driven database delivery.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Managing and optimising enterprise Oracle database platforms
  • Ensuring availability, resilience, and performance of production systems
  • Delivering upgrades, patching, backup and recovery (RMAN) and tuning
  • Supporting advanced Oracle technologies including Data Guard, RAC and OEM
  • Contributing to cloud transformation projects across OCI and Azure
  • Working closely with engineering teams on automation, CI/CD, and DevOps pipelines
  • Supporting incident, problem and change processes in a regulated environment

Requirements:

  • Strong experience as an Oracle DBA in enterprise production environments
  • Deep knowledge of Oracle 19c (and ideally newer versions)
  • Solid experience across Data Guard, RMAN, SQL and PL/SQL
  • Exposure to cloud platforms, ideally OCI and/or Azure
  • Linux and scripting experience
  • Strong troubleshooting ability and a proactive approach to system stability
  • Experience supporting SQL Server alongside Oracle
  • Exposure to Azure SQL / Managed Instance environments
  • Knowledge of RAC, Exadata or APEX
  • Background in financial services or similarly regulated environments
