Role Purpose
The credit controller will be part of the credit control department, responsible for ensuring payments are made in a timely manner to minimise overdue debt. The post holder will work closely with the operational departments to respond to queries or to resolve disputes.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Review the debt ledger on a daily basis and proactively chase overdue payments via phone and email
- Liaise with internal teams to resolve billing disputes
- Negotiate and manage payment plans where necessary
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients to ensure agreed payment terms are adhered to
- Recommend appropriate actions for overdue accounts
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all communications
- Build good working relationships with 3rd party stakeholders
- Prepare and distribute aged debt reports
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a credit control or cash collection role
- Ability to communicate effectively at all levels (both written and verbal)
- Excellent attention to detail
- Good time management skills and able to prioritise own workload
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to remain calm in stressful situations
- Previous experience working on a finance system
- Ability to work well in a team environment
- Strong IT skills, particularly in Excel

The ideal candidate will have previous credit control or cash collection experience within an office environment. A strong communicator is essential and attention to detail is key due to the complex nature of the role. Previous experience of dealing with external stakeholders is essential and the ability to work collaboratively across all Evolve departments is a pre-requisite for this position.
