Introduction
Evolve Energy Supply Limited is undertaking a strategic digital transformation, with an express need to improve capacity and throughput across all areas of the business and accelerate growth over the next five years.
The initiative includes streams across legacy transformation, digital strategy, internal build, and external adoption and integration.
Role Purpose
The senior developer will work closely with a multi‑discipline squad (BAs, developers, QA) in an Agile way to deliver business value through updates to existing platforms, new platform development, and integration with internal and external functions.
Responsibilities include assisting BAs with story shaping, building robust solutions, supporting QA during testing, and building continuous integration/delivery pipelines; supporting the continuous improvement of platforms and processes.
Duties and responsibilities
- Work closely with the Delivery Manager to ensure smooth delivery of quality, robust solutions.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies and actively contribute to the success of the development team and wider business colleagues.
- Deliver tested, working solutions and support the development team in QA and deployment activities.
- Understand the legacy and digital‑transformation landscape at Evolve and effectively contribute, leading initiatives where appropriate.
- Liaise with development and infrastructure colleagues regarding continuous‑improvement activities, proposing solutions where appropriate.
- Assist colleagues in Refinement/3‑Amigos sessions to ensure user stories are ready for development efficiently.
- Support QAs in the timely resolution of bugs arising from changes.
- Contribute to technical roadmaps, proof of concepts, and development of our service‑orientated architecture.
- Lead spike investigations into technical, process, and delivery challenges.
- Personal skills and experience
- Extensive experience as a Senior Developer in a commercial environment.
- Conversion of user stories to software applications and components to exacting standards with built‑in test coverage.
- Experience in service‑orientated architecture, API interfaces, and Azure Service Bus backbone.
- Ability to contribute to technical architecture discussions and influence decisions.
- Proven record in Agile squads with full participation in ceremonies.
- Postman/JMeter testing and automation.
- Strong skills in C#.
NET, Blazor, HTML, CSS, Java Script, Azure Functions, Service Bus, CI/CD pipelines, SQL Server, Entity Framework (Core), ASP.
NET, ASP.
NET Core Web API, MVC, and object‑oriented development.
The ideal candidate
Experienced Agile practitioner passionate about delivering value, confident in identifying issues and proposing solutions proactively.
Prior exposure to the utilities sector is advantageous but not essential.
Desirable skills include Scrum Master experience, real‑world CRM implementation (internal or external), and exposure to Docker or other containerisation technologies.
