What does good care really look like?
It’s not just about completing tasks or following a routine. It’s noticing the small things – how someone takes their tea, when they enjoy a quiet moment, or when something doesn’t feel quite right and taking the time to understand why.
As a Care Assistant, you’ll get to know our family members as individuals, build genuine relationships and support them with dignity, choice and independence. You’ll be trusted to bring your own personality to the role, while working alongside a team that shares responsibility and supports one another.
You don’t need to know everything when you start. Through our 12-week induction, Care Academy and ongoing development, we’ll help you build your skills, confidence and career in care.
What you’ll be doing
- Getting to know family members, their routines, preferences and what matters to them
- Supporting with personal care including washing, dressing and bathroom visits
- Supporting people living with dementia and understanding different ways of communicating
- Responding calmly and compassionately during moments of distress or uncertainty
- Helping with meals, activities and spending time together
- Noticing changes in wellbeing and recording information using electronic care records
- Supporting family members to continue doing the things they enjoy, both at home and in the community
- Working closely with other team members and raising any concerns
- Paid breaks and complimentary meals
- Enhanced pay on selected Bank Holidays
