You will play a pivotal role in shaping and elevating our Fire Division, ensuring delivery of high-quality installation, servicing, and commissioning of fire alarm systems across commercial and enterprise sites. As a Fire Project Engineer, you'll have the chance to guide and support engineers and subcontractors, offering clear direction and oversight throughout every project. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on a variety of projects, take ownership, and grow into a senior role over time.
While there will be some travel across the UK and Europe, most of your projects will be within a convenient commuting distance from London. We’re looking for someone who is proactive, independent, and professional. Flexibility is important, as your responsibilities may change to meet the needs of the organisation and project demands.
RESPONSIBILITIES:- Manage projects from initial install through to completion, ensuring quality, compliance, and timely delivery.
- Work closely with Sales, Project Managers, and other operational teams to support business growth, deliver client expectations, and improve service offerings.
- Ensure all installations comply with relevant fire safety regulations, British Standards (e.g. BS 5839), and manufacturer specifications.
- Configure panels, devices, and system networks to ensure full operational functionality.
- Conduct system testing, handover, and provide full documentation including completion certificates.
- Liaise professionally with clients, site managers, contractors, and other stakeholders.
- Provide all necessary project documentation in the correct format at the point of client handover.
- Advise on system upgrades, compliance matters, and recommended improvements.
- Competence and working knowledge of BS5839 standards.
- Level 3 qualification in Fire / Life Safety (EAL, BTEC, or FIA), with installation and maintenance modules preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in electrical life safety installation.
- Manufacturer training for relevant life safety systems (beneficial).
- Proven experience installing and commissioning fire alarm systems.
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on safety, compliance, and accuracy.
- Excellent communication skills and a professional, customer‑focused approach.
- Self‑motivated, organised, and able to manage workload effectively.
- Full UK driving licence.
