As a Revit Technician you will be responsible for creating and maintaining Revit models, drawings, and associated documentation. A strong understanding of Revit software is essential, along with the ability to thrive both independently and in collaboration with fellow team members.
Responsibilities
- Utilise BIM software to execute project tasks, such as establishing backgrounds, coordinating device placements for optimal fields of view, and identifying clashes with MEP, architectural, and structural elements. Communicate any clash issues to the BIM Lead.
- Collaborate closely with the Design Lead and BIM Lead to create comprehensive drawing packages.
- Maintain and update Revit models, drawings, and related documentation to ensure up-to-date information.
- Ensure accuracy, consistency, and efficiency across all Revit models and drawings.
- Tag details, develop new details as required, and collaborate with the Design Lead on detail creation.
- Engage in model reviews and assist in QA/QC processes alongside the Design Lead.
- Diagnose and resolve modelling challenges, including debugging models.
- Contribute to the enhancement and establishment of Revit standards and best practices.
- Offer technical assistance to team members on issues related to Revit.
- Make essential updates to family objects as necessary.
- Produce precise 2D sheets and efficiently manage views, sheets, and title blocks.
- Understand and work with scheduling and shared parameters.
- Support federated model coordination and clash detection activities.
- Conduct audits and coordinate design models to ensure adherence to BIM Execution Plans.
- Revise drawing annotations, including as-built references, revisions, and status updates as required.
- Validate redline changes and present updates to clients when necessary.
- Utilise Bluebeam and markups to enhance modelling tasks.
- Apply insights from point cloud scans and the as-built process to improve project quality.
- Work effectively within project timelines and deadlines.
- Adhere to specific client protocols and project requirements diligently.
Qualifications
- A background in engineering, complemented by hands-on experience with Access Control, Intruder Alarm, and IP CCTV systems, along with a solid understanding of systems design.
- 1–2 years of experience utilising Revit and BIM collaboration tools (BIM360, Navisworks, Excel; experience with DiRoots is a bonus).
- Meticulous attention to detail coupled with the ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
- Exceptional communication skills.
- Motivated and eager to grow within the business.
- Strong understanding of Revit schedules.
- Capable of working independently as well as collaboratively with the rest of the team.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
