The Role:
We’re seeking a Junior Credit Risk Analyst to join our Credit Risk team. You’ll use your skills in quantitative/statistical analysis to help ensure our lending decisions are the right ones for our business and create good customer outcomes. This role is suitable for a recent graduate in a numerate subject with good skills in quantitative/statistical analysis. A good working knowledge of SQL (preferable), SAS or SPSS is essential and will be assessed at interview.
Key Responsibilities
- Developing and producing Management Information and reports to monitor the portfolio.
- Assisting Senior Analysts in developing and evolving credit risk strategies to deliver more targeted acquisition and profitable growth of the business.
- Creation, validation and submission of monthly performance data to Credit Reference Agencies.
- Maintaining and developing new business credit risk strategies in the ADP decision engine.
- Analysing and tracking the effectiveness of KPI’s, ensuring adherence to risk appetite and lending policy, supporting business profitability growth.
- Working with suppliers and key internal stakeholders to define requirements, procedure, build, test and implement new credit risk capabilities, ensuring successful delivery.
- To comply with internal policies and procedures, alongside those of our regulator, ensuring good customer outcomes.
Qualifications (minimum):
- A degree in a numerate subject and good skills in quantitative/statistical analysis.
- A good working knowledge of at least one of the following programming languages: SQL, SAS, SPSS.
- Skills in Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI & Database packages.
- The ability to interpret data, identifying and prioritising evidence based actions; evaluating the potential impact and risk associated with proposed actions.
- Commercial acumen – able to understand how analysis and insight translates into business performance/profitably.
- The ability to communicate concepts at a variety of levels.
- The ability to constructively challenge preconceptions, influencing decision making.
- A proactive approach.

The Junior Credit Risk Analyst role does not meet the requirements for Skilled Worker VISA sponsorship. We expect the successful candidate to progress towards the role of Credit Risk Analyst within 24 months, subject to performance.
