The Product Owner will be responsible for key business products, overseeing their development from start to finish and ensuring they meet business needs and preferences. They will act as the primary contact between business stakeholders and development teams, driving the development of products using agile methodologies, gathering and documenting business objectives, and planning product roadmaps.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with users and stakeholders to understand and anticipate their needs and translate them into product requirements.
- Define and maintain the product vision.
- Create product roadmaps based on this vision.
- Manage the product backlog, continuously prioritising backlog items as requirements change.
- Oversee all stages of product creation, including design and development.
- Monitor and evaluate product progress at each stage of development.
- Work with the product team, end‑users and stakeholders to deliver updates, status reports, and feedback.
- Lead and participate in Scrum meetings and product sprints, acting as the voice of the business throughout the SDLC.
- Develop and document user stories and acceptance criteria.
- Lead design workshops to solutionise business requirements.
- Clearly define product requirements and collaborate with UI/UX to align the product UI/UX with product goals.
- Explain complex product domains to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
- Lead the UAT process, managing feedback until features meet acceptance criteria.
- Write thorough UAT scripts to validate product features against business/customer requirements.
- Manage senior management expectations, demonstrating product progress and incremental features regularly.
- Support the implementation of the product and its features for clients and business users.
- Communicate the value and benefits of new product features to business users and clients.
- Oversee delivery of new product features and ensure feedback is considered, reviewed, and decisions are made on whether to add items to the backlog.
- Research competition and products in the marketplace.
- Support senior management in evaluating existing products and developing strategies to select or update products.
- Undertake other duties of an appropriate nature in consultation with line manager.
Qualifications (minimum)
- 3+ years’ experience in a Product Owner role or leading software development projects, including an integrated customer communication platform.
- Excellent communication skills, able to present to various audiences and act as a translator between technical and non‑technical parties.
- Experience working with agile methodologies.

- Qualified Scrum Master.
- Experience with JIRA, DEVOPS, Bizagi/MS Visio, Slack, and Google Apps.
