About the role
As a Registered Nurse in our PACU unit, you will provide general anaesthetic, local anaesthetic and monitored sedation recovery to patients both adult and paediatric. You will also:
- Provide evidence-based nursing care for patients
- Provide care in accordance with best nursing practices, company policies and in collaboration with the patient, their family and the wider healthcare team
- Constructively critique new ideas, proposed changes and developments before adopting new evidence-based practices
- Anticipate patient’s requirements, discuss with medical colleagues, and organise necessary investigations and equipment
- Maintain patient safety and integrity by anticipating and managing risks and potential complications in treatments, procedures and the surgical environment – including risks related to infection, positioning and restraint
Your practice will be in line with the code of conduct and professional boundaries of the nursing professional body. This is a permanent position for 24 hours per fortnight and is located at Royston Day Surgery in Hawkes Bay.
About you
As a Registered Nurse, you will be professional, motivated and enthusiastic. You will have excellent communication skills and provide an exceptional standard of care to our patients. You will also demonstrate and have the following skills and experiences:
- Registered Nurse with current NZ Nursing Council APC
- Relevant bachelor’s degree or Hospital based training
- Demonstrated nursing experience in a PACU
- Knowledge of the best practice relevant nursing standards of care
- Committed to continuous quality improvement and personal development
