Leading UK Clearing Bank | London (Hybrid, 3 days in office) | Β£75,000–£85,000

Our client is one of only six UK clearing banks with direct access to the country's payment systems. Built on modern, cloud-native technology, we provide businesses with secure, API-driven banking that is fast, compliant, and built for growth. If you want to work where technology meets banking and your work directly enables business ambition, this is the right place.

The Role

This is a high-impact, first-line position reporting directly to the COO. You will be responsible for maintaining and continuously strengthening our Operational Resilience Framework and Business Continuity Management capability, translating regulatory expectations into clear, practical outcomes across the organisation.

You will manage one direct report focused on BCP deliverables and work closely with stakeholders across Operations, Technology, Risk & Compliance, and Internal Audit to embed resilience by design and keep the business ready for disruption.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and evolve the Operational Resilience capability, including identification of Important Business Services and Impact Tolerances, and ensuring end-to-end mapping, scenario testing, and lessons learned are embedded and maintained.
  • Own the Business Continuity Plan, ensuring plans and incident response procedures are aligned to resilience requirements and regulatory expectations.
  • Support incident and issue management, including root cause analysis, regulatory impact assessment, and timely remediation.
  • Assess and oversee the resilience of critical third parties and key supply chain dependencies, including exit and contingency options.
  • Drive continuous improvement in resilience control maturity, translating vulnerabilities identified through mapping, incidents, and testing into clear remediation plans.
  • Collaborate with second and third line functions to ensure alignment, gap closure, and effective assurance over resilience deliverables.
  • Ensure resilience considerations are integrated into change and transformation initiatives from the outset.
  • Own related regulatory reporting processes, including the annual Board-approved Operational Resilience Self-Assessment, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and audit readiness.

What We're Looking For

  • Proven leadership experience in operational risk or resilience within banking or financial services.
  • Strong knowledge of UK regulatory frameworks including PRA/FCA Operational Resilience policies, FSCS, and PSR.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.
  • A strategic thinker with operational discipline β€” comfortable working independently and taking initiative.
  • Resilient and adaptable in a fast-moving environment.

What's on Offer

  • 25 days annual leave plus Bank Holidays, increasing with service, plus birthday leave.
  • Enhanced pension (up to 20% salary sacrifice).
  • Private Medical Insurance for you and your family.
  • Life assurance (4x salary) and Critical Illness Insurance.
  • Personal Benefits Allowance for salary sacrifice benefits.
  • Comprehensive healthcare and wellness programme.
  • Peer-to-peer recognition programme with monthly awards.
  • Clear performance development framework.

We are an equal opportunity employer committed to inclusion, diversity, and belonging. All qualified applicants are welcome and will receive consideration regardless of race, colour, age, disability, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, or national origin.
