The SHEQ Advisor for the South UK is a critical role responsible for the day-to-day operational implementation of our Safety, Health, Environment, and Quality (SHEQ) policies and standards within their designated region. This role will provide essential on-the-ground support to project teams and engineers, ensuring we maintain compliance, drive continuous improvement, and proactively manage risk to support the business\’s growth.Key ResponsibilitiesOn-site Support & Audits: Conduct regular site visits, inspections, and audits to ensure compliance with company policies, client requirements, and UK legislationIncident Management: Assist with the investigation and reporting of all accidents, incidents, and near-misses. The focus will be on identifying root causes to prevent recurrence and assisting the Group SHEQ Manager in maintaining accurate recordsDocumentation & Reporting: Help prepare, review, and maintain SHEQ documentation, including risk assessments and method statements. This role is responsible for compiling statistics for internal reporting and presentationsSubcontractor & Supply Chain Management: Assist SHEQ Admin in reviewing subcontractor, supplier and customer onboarding forms, to ensure compliance with our standardsTraining & Mentoring: Conduct toolbox talks when required and provide guidance and support to operational staff on SHEQ mattersInternational Travel: Be willing to travel internationally to support the business Group OperationsCompliance: Assist the SHEQ team in the maintenance of our accreditations and certifications across our Group Operations.Continuous Improvement: Participate in and promote safety campaigns and initiatives, identify areas for improvement, and assist with developing proactive plans to enhance SHEQ performanceRequirementsCompetence: A sound understanding of UK health and safety legislation and regulations is essentialSecurity Clearance: Must have or be willing to undergo and obtain Developed Vetting (DV) security clearance. This is a mandatory requirement for the role due to the nature of our clientsExperience: Proven experience in a SHEQ or health and safety role, preferably within the construction or engineering sectors, with a solid understanding of CDM 2015 regulations, with some auditing experienceQualifications: A recognised health and safety qualification, such as the NEBOSH National General Certificate or IOSH Managing Safely, is a minimum requirementCareer Development: Be willing to work towards achieving an international NEBOSH diplomaSkills: Strong IT skills, excellent written and verbal communication abilities, and a proven ability to influence others at all levelsDriver\’s License: A full UK driving license is requiredBenefitsWe are employee-owned!
