As a Technical Estimator within our High-Security team, you will play a key role in shaping winning proposals for some of the most sensitive and complex security projects in the UK. Working closely with the assigned Bid Leader, you'll take ownership of the technical and costing elements of each submission, evaluating project specifications, developing system designs, producing accurate cost models, and creating competitive bids for integrated physical and electronic security solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Review, interpret, and design validate/verify client specifications to ensure full understanding of project needs and ensure compliant returns.
  • Pulling together all necessary supporting technical information, performing due diligence and/or compliance statements.
  • Producing a complete, accurate, and competitive bid/quote packages and also, when working with the Bid Leader, providing input to the development of project programmes, delivery method statements, quality question responses etc.
  • Engage directly with customers, attending site visits and meetings to clarify requirements and gather first-hand information.
  • Develop structured, costed solutions from early-stage information provided by the sales team.
  • Translate technical wish-lists and specifications into pricing, ensuring all elements are captured and costed appropriately.
  • Collaborate with operational and technical/engineering teams to gather necessary information for estimates.
  • Support tender responses, contributing to structured tender submissions and ensuring compliance with client requirements.
  • Estimate project timelines, understanding how long tasks and deliverables realistically take, their phasing and their dependencies.

Requirements

  • Ideally you will have had experience working with Enterprise security systems on large scale, multi-discipline projects.
  • Strong knowledge of project cost estimating and bidding processes.
  • Experience using Bluebeam or similar software.
  • Excellent analytical and organisational skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, with particularly strong experience using Excel. MS Visio and MS Project experience are also advantageous for this role.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Full UK (clean) driving license.
  • Due to the nature of our customer engagements, candidates must be able to obtain UK Security Clearance (SC). Eligibility for SC includes British citizenship and sustained UK residency.
