We are looking for an Estimator to join our team and play a key role in shaping our Government projects! As an Estimator, you will be responsible for evaluating project specifications, cost estimation, and developing competitive bids for security system installations. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work under pressure to meet project deadlines. You will collaborate closely with project managers and engineering teams to ensure accurate and timely bidding. Furthermore, the Estimator will analyse past projects and market trends to provide insightful recommendations that drive profitability and efficiency in our bidding process. This role is perfect for someone with an engineering background and a strong technical understanding of electronic security systems.
Responsibilities:
- Review project specifications and drawings to develop accurate cost estimates.
- Prepare detailed and competitive estimates for materials, labour, and equipment.
- Analyse historical data, market trends, and supply costs to inform pricing strategies.
- Collaborate with project managers and engineering teams to gather necessary information for estimates.
- Maintain and update a database of cost information for future reference.
- Participate in bid meetings and tender reviews, presenting to clients as required.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures during the estimating process.
- Support the Sales team at customer meetings.
Requirements:
- Ideally you will have had experience working with Enterprise security systems on large scale projects.
- Strong knowledge of project cost estimating and bidding processes.
- Experience using Bluebeam or similar software.
- Excellent analytical and organisational skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, with particularly strong experience using Excel.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Full UK, clean driving license.
