Due to continued expansion, we are looking to recruit a skilled and motivated Costs Draftsperson or Costs Lawyer to join our team.
Role Description
This is a full-time permanent hybrid role, based in our Liverpool offices with the flexibility to work remotely for 2 days per week. The successful candidate will handle a variety of responsibilities, including but not limited to:
- Drafting Bills of Costs
- Drafting Points of Dispute
- Drafting Points of Reply
- Drafting Part 8 Proceedings/Interim Applications
- Assessing and negotiating cost claims
- Preparing Precedent H Budgets
- Attending CCMCs
- Advising clients
The role involves working collaboratively with clients and team members to ensure accurate cost recovery and reporting.
Requirements/Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a Costs Draftsperson or Costs Lawyer
- Strong working knowledge of the Civil Procedure Rules and costs case law
- Experience in dealing with costs relating to personal injury, clinical negligence, industrial disease, housing disrepair and commercial litigation
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
- Ability to work independently and manage your own caseload
- Strong communication and negotiation skills
