Evolito’s mission is to accelerate the adoption of electric propulsion in aerospace applications in support of a net-zero world. We will help to revolutionise personal mobility and transform our towns and cities with clean, noise-free air transportation. Evolito develops and manufactures class-leading, lightweight, high-power, and high-torque-density electric propulsion systems for a range of aerospace markets, including EVTOL, Unmanned Aerial Vehicles and General Aviation. As well as ultra-high performance, low-weight electric motors and controllers, Evolito specialises in high integrity, bespoke battery systems for the aerospace and defence markets. The team is scaling rapidly and has ambitious growth plans over the next twelve to eighteen months.
As part of our current high-growth phase, we are looking for a Technical Project Manager to be responsible for supporting the delivery of engineering programmes by developing, maintaining and executing detailed technical delivery plans across the product lifecycle. Working in close alignment with the Technical Programme Manager and Project Lead Engineer, you will ensure that engineering activities are coordinated, tracked and delivered in line with programme milestones, technical requirements and customer commitments. This role operates at the interface between engineering disciplines and wider business functions, ensuring effective flow of information, proactive risk management and delivery of key technical milestones.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Development, maintenance and management of detailed engineering delivery plans from project initiation through to Type Certification (TC)
- Supporting planning and execution across all product lifecycle phases, including requirements cascade (system to equipment level), concept and detailed design, manufacturing readiness, and SoF and MoC test campaigns
- Tracking and managing progress against technical milestones between programme gateway reviews
- Ensuring engineering activities remain aligned with programme priorities set by the Technical Programme Manager
- Working closely with the Project Lead Engineer (PLE) to support technical gateway reviews (e.g. PDR, CDR), coordinate engineering activities and maintain alignment to delivery timelines
- Maintaining clear visibility of task status, dependencies and delivery risks across engineering work packages
- Managing and tracking Level 2 technical risks, ensuring risks are identified, documented and mitigated
- Escalating risks, issues and delivery concerns in a timely manner and support structured problem-solving to resolve blockers
- Maintaining effective information flow between Engineering and key functions, including Operations, Supply Chain, Manufacturing and Test
- Supporting clear communication of engineering progress, risks and delivery status to internal stakeholders and customers
- Ensuring alignment between engineering execution and customer requirements
- Supporting the delivery of engineering cadence, including weekly project reviews, design reviews and cross-functional integration meetings
- Maintaining technical action logs, ensuring clear ownership, visibility and timely closure of actions
- Tracking and reporting progress against plan to drive transparency and accountability
- Working closely with the Technical Programme Manager and wider TPM team to support prioritisation across programmes and delivery optimisation
- Supporting alignment with Chief Engineer priorities and governance forums
- Contributing to the development and improvement of engineering delivery processes, planning tools and standard ways of working
- Supporting continuous improvement in programme delivery and execution
- Prioritising safety in all activities and comply with Evolito processes, standards and Business Management System requirements
- Understanding the safety implications of engineering decisions and support safe product development through robust planning and verification.
Skills and experience required:
- Degree in Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent experience in a technical programme or engineering delivery environment
- Understanding of engineering development lifecycles, including requirements, design and validation
- Experience working within multi-disciplinary engineering programmes
- Familiarity with aerospace development and certification environments desirable
- Ability to manage plans, priorities, risks and dependencies in a structured and organised manner
- Strong coordination and organisational skills
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively under pressure
- Strong team-oriented mindset, with a focus on enabling others to succeed
- Proactive, organised and delivery-focused
