Evolito’s mission is to accelerate the adoption of electric propulsion in aerospace applications in support of a net-zero world. We will help to revolutionise personal mobility and transform our towns and cities with clean, noise-free air transportation. Evolito develops and manufactures class-leading, lightweight, high-power, and high-torque-density electric propulsion systems for a range of aerospace markets, including EVTOL, Unmanned Aerial Vehicles and General Aviation. As well as ultra-high performance, low-weight electric motors and controllers, Evolito specialises in high integrity, bespoke battery systems for the aerospace and defence markets. The team is scaling rapidly and has ambitious growth plans over the next twelve to eighteen months.
As part of our current high-growth phase, we are looking for a Technical Programme Manager to join the team. Reporting to our Chief Engineer, you will be responsible for defining, integrating and delivering the end-to-end engineering delivery plan for Evolito’s electric propulsion systems. As the Technical Programme Manager, you will ensure that technical activities across the full product lifecycle, from requirements cascade through design, validation and verification, are planned, integrated and executed in alignment with programme milestones, regulatory expectations and customer commitments.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Leading and developing the Technical Programme Management (TPM) function, including line management of Technical Project Managers supporting engineering delivery across programmes
- Providing direction, prioritisation and oversight to ensure alignment with Chief Engineer technical strategy and programme objectives
- Establishing and maintaining consistent planning, governance, reporting and risk management practices across all programmes
- Building TPM team capability through coaching, standard ways of working, and continuous improvement in delivery performance
- Ensuring effective allocation of TPM resource in line with programme priorities and key milestones
- Owning the development and maintenance of end-to-end technical delivery plans for electric motor and controller programmes, covering requirements cascade (CRS to ERS), concept design, detailed design, and physical verification
- Integrating inputs across engineering functions to define dependencies, sequencing and critical paths
- Definition and maintenance of Drawing Instruction Standard (DIS) expectations for each programme in line with Chief Engineer requirements
- Definition and management of interim technical milestones, including CAD maturity and freeze points, virtual validation completion, build readiness and test readiness
- Ensuring alignment between technical milestones and overall programme milestones in collaboration with Programme Lead Engineers
- Ensuring technical maturity supports lifecycle reviews (e.g. PDR, CDR) and certification requirements
- Supporting identification, management and escalation of technical risks, ensuring clear ownership and mitigation plans are in place
- Proactively identifying risks related to integration, design maturity and cross-functional dependencies
- Communicating engineering delivery plans clearly to internal and external stakeholders, adapting to changing requirements and priorities
- Representing engineering delivery in customer programme reviews and ensuring alignment between internal plans and customer expectations
- Leading weekly engineering programme and design reviews to track progress, manage risks and support decision-making
- Supporting geometric integration forums to resolve cross-functional design and packaging issues
- Maintenance and control of technical programme action logs, ensuring accountability and timely closure
Skills and experience required:
- Degree or equivalent experience in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical or Systems Engineering
- Demonstrated experience in technical programme or project management within a complex engineering environment
- Strong understanding of product development lifecycles, including requirements, design, verification and validation
- Experience integrating multi-disciplinary engineering teams to deliver complex systems
- Familiarity with aerospace development and certification frameworks (e.g. ARP4754, ARP4761) desirable
- Proven ability to manage technical risk, schedule and dependencies in a structured manner
- Ability to operate at system level, maintaining oversight without becoming embedded in detail
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with senior engineering leadership, programme management and external customers
- Highly organised, proactive and delivery-focused, with strong attention to detail
- Able to manage competing priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Structured and disciplined approach to planning and execution
- Strong ownership and accountability mindset
- Collaborative and facilitative leadership style
- Confidence to challenge constructively and escalate where appropriate
- Ability to travel when required
