Our high-performance electric motors and controllers power some of the most exciting aerospace innovations, from electric aircraft to advanced unmanned aerial vehicles.

As a member of our 12-month Mechanical Design Industrial Placement Programme, you'll work alongside experienced engineers on live customer projects from day one. You'll have the opportunity to:

  • Contribute to the design and development of components and assemblies for electric propulsion products
  • Produce and modify 3D CAD models, 2D engineering drawings and supporting technical documentation
  • Support projects from requirements and concept development through to manufacture, testing and verification
  • Assist with material selection, design for manufacture and prototype build activities
  • Contribute to design reviews, DFMEAs, development testing and technical investigations
  • Receive mentoring and support throughout the programme

You could be involved in projects across:

  • Mechanical Design
  • 3D CAD Modelling & Engineering Drawings
  • Product Development
  • Design for Manufacture & Assembly
  • Prototype Build & Development Testing
  • Design Verification
  • Engineering Risk Assessment & DFMEA

We're looking for motivated students who:

  • Are studying Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Electro-Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
  • Need to complete an industrial placement year as part of their course
  • Have a good understanding of fundamental engineering principles and an interest in product development
  • Have some experience using a 3D CAD package such as Siemens NX, CATIA or SolidWorks
  • Are practical, analytical, collaborative and eager to learn

This isn't a placement where you'll be sitting on the sidelines. You'll become part of a team of talented engineers working at the forefront of electric aviation. You'll be trusted to contribute, encouraged to innovate and supported to develop both technically and professionally. By the end of your placement, you'll have gained valuable industry experience, built your professional network and developed skills that will help launch your engineering career.
