  • Following pre-test assessment processes to ensure test readiness covering technical, operational and safety considerations
  • Supporting Engineers in the creation of test cases and procedures for conducting tests
  • Conducting pre-defined data analysis and use pre-existing analysis tools (e.g. MATLAB & Python scripts)
  • Build and modification of wiring harnesses and other electrical assemblies for test instrumentation (e.g., looms, connectors, crimping and related assembly tasks)
  • Leading laboratory equipment software maintenance and calibration
  • Identifying and feeding back potential rig design improvements to the wider team
  • Prioritising safety actions over other tasks and being mindful of the potential safety implications of all testing activities
  • Documenting laboratory procedures and safe systems of work
  • Supporting cross functional activities with software, controls and hardware electronics teams
  • Authoring technical and project documentation (Request for Quotation, Scope of Work, Statement of Work) for delivery of complex test systems in a production environment
  • Owning and tracking CAPEX for assigned projects to ensure delivery on time and within cost
  • Supporting the data storage and management strategy for production test equipment, ensuring integration as required with third-party software (MES, test control software, data processing software)
  • Defining and tracking all design and functional requirements of the test equipment in your domain, including areas of Hardware, Software, Data Management, and H&S
  • Planning and conducting verification testing of new equipment and facilities during commissioning phases

Skills and experience required:

  • Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Electronic Engineering, or equivalent knowledge and experience
  • Certified LabVIEW Developer or Architect, with experience in AF, DQMH, OOP, and UML design
  • Experience with dynamometers and production test equipment for electric motors
  • Knowledge of data management systems and integration of third‐party software
  • Experience delivering production test equipment using structured requirements management tools (e.g. PTC Codebeamer)
  • Working knowledge of H&S standards for production equipment and high‐voltage electrical systems
  • Ability to compile complex project documentation to align internal and external stakeholders (e.g. Statements of Work)
  • Ability to innovate and develop new methods of test control and instrumentation
  • Experience using MATLAB or NI tools for test data analysis, including custom scripting
  • Ability to apply aerospace design processes to production test equipment definition and delivery
  • Strong hands‐on approach to test setup, instrumentation, data acquisition, commissioning, and verification
  • Strong analytical, reasoning, and troubleshooting skills, with good engineering judgement
  • Flexible, proactive, and able to manage competing priorities under tight deadlines
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across teams
  • UK driving licence and willingness to travel
