Evolito’s mission is to accelerate the adoption of electric propulsion in aerospace applications in support of a net-zero world. We will help to revolutionise personal mobility and transform our towns and cities with clean, noise-free air transportation. Evolito develops and manufactures class-leading, lightweight, high-power, and high-torque-density electric propulsion systems for a range of aerospace markets, including EVTOL, Unmanned Aerial Vehicles and General Aviation. As well as ultra-high performance, low-weight electric motors and controllers, Evolito specialises in high integrity, bespoke battery systems for the aerospace and defence markets. The team is scaling rapidly and has ambitious growth plans over the next twelve to eighteen months.

As part of our current high-growth phase, we are looking for a Graduate CAE Thermal Engineer to join our Thermal Engineering Analysis Team. During your graduate role, you will support the team by carrying out hand calculations and simulations to provide the design evaluation of our products.

Responsibilities

  • Undertake thermal analyses on electric propulsion unit (EPU) assemblies and sub-assemblies using methodologies developed by Evolito.
  • Support senior team members in the thermal characterisation of the Evolito product by way of CFD & FEA, ensuring thermal management is achieved under all flight conditions.
  • Support the validation of Engineering Analysis by liaising with the Test & Verification Team, under the guidance of senior team members.
  • Help develop rigorous analysis techniques that correlate closely with test results.
  • Apply engineering knowledge and simulation to derive solutions based on thermal performance, strength, weight reduction and manufacturability.
  • Author well written reports that document the analysis carried out, leading to sound conclusions including the use of supporting evidence e.g. test work.

Qualifications

  • Engineering Degree with modules in Thermodynamics and Fluid Dynamics.
  • Experience and/or university modules including CFD/FEA.
  • Ability to apply engineering knowledge to real-world situations.
  • Creative problem solving abilities, with an analytical approach to implementation.
