Evolito develops and manufactures class-leading, lightweight, high-power, and high-torque-density electric propulsion systems for a range of aerospace markets, including EVTOL, Unmanned Aerial Vehicles and General Aviation. As well as ultra-high performance, low-weight electric motors and controllers, Evolito specialises in high integrity, bespoke battery systems for the aerospace and defence markets. The team is scaling rapidly and has ambitious growth plans over the next twelve to eighteen months.
As part of our current high-growth phase, we are seeking an Electrical Lab Technician to support the design, construction, testing, and repair of electronic and electrical equipment, as well as maintain the laboratory environment. Key responsibilities will include:
- PCBA modification, investigation, and repair
- PCBA programming
- PCBA and MCU testing
- PCBA, Current sensor and MCU level calibration
- Test Equipment calibration, maintenance, and repair
- Lab management (5s, maintenance, repair, housekeeping, stock control)
- High Voltage Test Rig maintenance
- Parts ordering (PRs and SAP)
- ESD controls, checks and Auditing
- Support FRACAS investigation (testing)
- Support MRBs (investigations / testing)
- Test rigs / development harnesses, design, build, maintain
- Cross-team support for SW, Controls, T&V for testing
- Writing work instructions, lab procedures, modification documents
- Health and Safety / Risk assessments
- Working with high voltage systems (up to 1500V DC, training provided)
Skills and experience required:
- Degree level qualification in Electronics / Mechatronics / Electrical Engineering or similar
- Experience gained via placement or internship activities in a relevant industry
- Knowledge of power electronic devices such as PCBA design (Schematic capture, PCB layout, Altium)
- Experience of soldering to IPC standards/level is desirable
- Awareness of ESD compliance and best practices
- Some experience working with high voltage / high current / high-energy systems, following safe systems of work
- The ability to fact find on PCBA to a competent level and complete PCBA rework and testing
- Good communication skills (both written and verbal), good collaboration skills, and the ability to work effectively across teams
- Instinctive problem-solving skills coupled with a sound analytical approach
- A 'self-starter' attitude with the ability to thrive in a small business environment
