Here at evoke plc, we’re looking for an experienced Data Protection Advisor to join our Group Data Protection Team and play a key role in driving our global data protection strategy. As a member of the Group Data Protection Team, you’ll act as a trusted business partner across the organisation, providing expert guidance and supporting our Group Data Protection Officer (DPO). You will be central to ensuring evoke plc meets its legal and regulatory obligations under GDPR and relevant international data protection laws. This is a hands‑on, business‑facing role where you’ll help shape and maintain robust policies, processes and a culture of strong data protection across all jurisdictions in which we operate.

What you will be doing:

  • Providing comprehensive reporting on matters and key metrics to the Group DPO and providing them with sufficient oversight of trends, volume and types of work being managed by the team, for example, provide metrics in relation to Information Rights, complaints, number of DPIAs, Data Breaches etc.
  • Assisting with personal data breaches and complaint investigations, presenting findings to the Senior or Group DPO, reporting to the regulator, where applicable and maintaining an up‑to‑date incident register.
  • Managing the DP team’s mailboxes, including responding to enquiries and escalating when enquiries are time critical whilst assisting the team with the creation of new policy, procedure and documentation management as well as with audits and reviews of internal policy and third parties.
  • Maintaining strong stakeholder relationships with key individuals and teams. Liaising with legal, security and compliance for the review of relevant documentation, for example Data Processing Agreements (DPA).
  • Continuously keeping abreast of developments in privacy and data protection legislation in the markets we operate in, including monitoring any regulatory developments, action or fines within our jurisdictions and identifying opportunities to improve our own GDPR & Data Protection programme.
  • Assisting the team with the development of data protection compliance frameworks to ensure compliance and ensure policies are regularly reviewed by team members.
  • Working closely with all other parts of the business, and with individual stakeholders where required to continuously improve data protection compliance and awareness.
  • Completing work in accordance with the department’s standard operating procedures and ways of working whilst maintaining all documentation and records in accordance with the Data Protection Team’s records management practices.

  • Detailed knowledge and competence in providing data protection guidance and handling data protection team processes whilst working in an established private sector Data Protection Team.
  • Practical experience and working knowledge of the application of Data Protection and associated legislation within a highly regulated, fast paced and ever‑changing commercial environment.
  • Experienced and competent in completing DPIAs, LIAs, managing and updating ROPA, administering Information Rights, regulatory registrations/notifications, busy team mailbox management and investigating and collating evidence for the DPO to address complaints and data breaches.
  • Some experience or exposure of providing Data Protection related guidance to AI solutions/project teams and their use of personal data.
