A market-leading global hedge fund is building out its AI capabilities from the ground up and is hiring for its first AI Engineer to join its front-office engineering team. This is a greenfield opportunity to work directly with key stakeholders across multiple trading desks/pods, building internal Python-based research tools that leverage LLMs.
Our client is looking for someone who can take ownership, move fast, and help shape how AI is integrated into the trading floor. Projects typically run from 1 to 6 months, and the work is highly visible and impactful. You’ll be at the centre of a growing effort to scale AI tools across the business!
Desired experience:- BSc degree or higher in a STEM-related subject from a top university
- Strong coding abilities in Python, exposure to SQL would be advantageous
- Expertise and real-world experience working with LLMs and AI-driven tools
- Financial services experience would be a huge bonus but not essential
- Strong communication skills (will be facing off with PMs, traders, engineers, etc.)
The compensation package includes a base salary of c. £80,000 - £120,000 plus a discretionary bonus.
