An exciting opportunity has arisen for a practical and organised individual to join a growing operations team based in Cwmbran. This role combines hands-on mechanical work with warehouse responsibilities, offering variety and the chance to develop technical skills in a supportive environment. Ideal candidates will have a mechanically inclined mindset with proven technical problem-solving and troubleshooting capability, as well as practical hands-on mechanical and/or electrical knowledge or experience. Candidates must also have counterbalance forklift experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform in-house assembly, servicing, refurbishment, and testing of mechanical equipment, with a focus on valve-related products.
  • Manage components through all stages of production, from work-in-progress to finished goods, ensuring quality and accuracy.
  • Handle incoming and outgoing deliveries, including inspection, booking in stock, and preparing orders for dispatch.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records using internal systems.
  • Safely operate workshop tools, equipment, and machinery, including forklifts where applicable.
  • Work to schedules and deadlines to meet operational requirements.
  • Coordinate shipments with external logistics providers.
  • Keep the workshop and warehouse areas clean, organised, and well-maintained.
  • Follow all health & safety procedures, including correct use of PPE.
  • Support quality standards and internal processes in line with company policies.
  • Assist with additional tasks as required to support day-to-day operations.

Essential Requirements

  • Able to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workload.
  • Mechanically minded with a hands-on approach.
  • Basic mechanical and/or electrical knowledge is desirable.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Flexible, proactive, and solution-focused attitude.
  • Confident in problem-solving and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with inventory systems and general IT skills.
  • Educated to secondary level or equivalent.
  • Forklift or counterbalance experience is an advantage.
