Class 1 Driver required to start 17th August for our Client based in the Leigh area of Greater Manchester. The Role is Days Monday-Friday.
We are seeking a motivated and experienced HGV Class 1 Driver to join our dynamic logistics team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for safely operating heavy goods vehicles to transport goods efficiently across various locations. Your expertise in commercial driving, combined with a focus on safety and customer service, will ensure timely deliveries and uphold our reputation for excellence. Duties:
- Safely operate HGV Class 1 vehicles, including flatbed trucks, ensuring compliance with all road safety regulations and company policies.
- Conduct thorough vehicle inspections before and after each shift to guarantee roadworthiness and safety standards are met.
- Plan and execute delivery routes efficiently, adhering to scheduled timelines and delivery instructions.
- Secure loads properly, especially when handling flatbed cargo, to prevent movement or damage during transit.
- Complete all necessary documentation accurately, including delivery logs, mileage records, and inspection reports.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch teams regarding delivery status, delays, or issues encountered on the road.
- Maintain a professional attitude while providing excellent customer service during drop-offs and pickups.
Skills:
- Proven experience as a commercial delivery driver, preferably with flatbed cargo handling.
- Strong knowledge of driving regulations and safety standards for HGV vehicles.
- Excellent driving skills with a clean driving record and the ability to operate large trucks confidently.
- Familiarity with route planning software and GPS navigation tools.
- Ability to handle physical aspects of loading/unloading cargo safely and efficiently.
- Good communication skills for liaising with clients and team members.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing schedules or delivery requirements.
