Location: Swindon, Wiltshire

Salary: £16.10 - £16.93

Contract: Permanent, Part-time. 5 Hours per week, Term Time only.

About the Role: We are seeking a highly skilled and organised individual to join our team as a Governance Officer. This pivotal role ensures the efficient and effective functioning of governance processes, providing vital administrative, advisory, and organisational support to Trustees and Members. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a thorough understanding of governance best practices and compliance requirements, contributing to the success of our Trust’s leadership team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Offer administrative and organisational support for meetings involving the Board of Trustees, Committees, and Members.
  • Provide guidance on legal and procedural frameworks to ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory standards.
  • Act as a source of advice and assistance on governance, constitutional, and procedural matters.
  • Manage meeting agendas, distribute supporting documentation, and follow up on action points efficiently.
  • Take accurate minutes during meetings, recording attendance, decisions, and responsibilities for agreed actions.
  • Maintain secure and confidential handling of data in line with GDPR guidelines.
  • Proactively manage governance processes, including elections, induction, and training for Trustees.
  • Ensure accurate documentation of membership, pecuniary interests, and meeting attendance.
  • Regularly update and improve governance processes in alignment with legislative and policy changes.
