This highly respected educational body seeks an experienced Assistant IT Network and Infrastructure Manager to join an established team based in Wiltshire. Working on a full-time basis, Monday to Friday, this role is offered with a competitive salary up to £36,360 plus a range of attractive employee benefits.
As an Assistant IT Network and Infrastructure Manager, you will offer management support to the IT Helpdesk Technicians and support the build and maintenance of the internal IT network and infrastructure. Your responsibilities will include:
- Management: Support the Network Manager with the day-to-day direction and workload supervision of 3 IT Technicians, including helpdesk tickets and internal queries.
- Network Management: Assist in the planning, designing, implementation, and maintenance of network infrastructure, including servers, PCs, and laptops, ensuring optimal performance and security across the organisation.
- Infrastructure Support: Provide support for servers, storage, and other infrastructure components, ensuring high availability and reliability.
- Project Work: To support new projects, working alongside the Network Manager and wider ICT team.
- Data Management: To report any misuse of the computer and/or network issues, working in line with strict GDPR and internal policies.
- Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve network and infrastructure issues promptly to minimise downtime.
- Monitoring: Monitor network performance and infrastructure health, implementing improvements as needed.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate documentation of network configurations, processes, and procedures.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the IT team and other departments to support various projects and initiatives.
Qualifications:
- A Level Education or higher education in a Computer Science, or related field (Desirable).
- Proven experience in network and infrastructure management or a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of network protocols, hardware, and software - understanding of multiple VLANS IP, and subnetting.
- Advanced working knowledge of MS Office - Excel, Word, SharePoint, and Outlook - Windows Server 2012/Exchange 2016/0365 Exchange online.
- Experience with server and storage management.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
