Overview

Here at evoke plc, we are looking for a London based Head of Finance Governance and Internal Control. You will be responsible for strengthening the Group Finance and the Finance Shared Service Centre (FSSC) financial control environment, driving continuous improvement in finance processes, and ensuring robust governance. You will establish and oversee the Group’s Internal Control Over Financial Reporting (ICOFR). Managing the design and implementation of an effective control framework across all finance processes, while partnering with global finance teams to deliver effective finance processes that enhance efficiency, transparency, and risk management. In addition, this role is instrumental in driving operational excellence.

What you will be doing

  • Acting as a trusted advisor to the Group Finance Director and Finance Leadership Team on governance and control matters and being responsible for ensuring alignment between Business Unit’s controls and Group-level controls.
  • Developing the ICOFR framework, including design, documentation, testing coordination, and remediation ownership whilst partnering with business cross function stakeholders including Service Enablement in the FSSC, FP&A, Tax, Treasury, and Risk to embed a consistent culture of control, accountability and governance.
  • Partnering with Group Internal Audit to identify and remediate control weaknesses, ensuring sustainable improvement in control maturity. This includes managing all finance internal audit outstanding actions and ensuring that they are resolved in a timely manner.
  • Monitoring and reporting on control effectiveness, risk exposures and remediation plans in financial reporting and finance operations, including oversight over FSSC controls, including periodic reviews and continuous improvement of shared service control performance.
  • Developing and maintaining governance frameworks including Risk and Control Matrix (RACM), supporting implementation of internal controls and actively participating in external audit relating to internal control reviews.
  • Participating in establishing KPIs and dashboards for operational finance and assessing their effectiveness, ensuring policies and procedures are updated and maintained across financial control.
  • Along with the Head of Financial Control and Head of Group Reporting, participating in simplifying the close, consolidation, and reporting cycle to improve speed, accuracy, and insight.
  • Driving cultural and behavioural change, embedding new ways of working and a strong control mindset across the organisation. Championing innovation and efficiency, ensuring finance operations and processes are fit for the future.
