Role Description

This is a 9 month contract possibly leading to longer, on‑site Electrician role based in the Newcastle Upon Tyne Area, United Kingdom. The Electrician will install electrical systems and equipment in line with relevant regulations and company standards. Day‑to‑day tasks include reading and interpreting technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and specifications; installing and connecting cables, fixtures, and control devices; and performing routine inspections and preventive maintenance. The role involves diagnosing faults, troubleshooting electrical issues, and carrying out corrective repairs to ensure systems operate safely and efficiently. The Electrician will also complete required documentation, collaborate with supervisors and project teams, and communicate clearly with clients and colleagues on work progress, safety, and any identified risks.

Qualifications

• Strong foundation in electrical principles, including knowledge of electricity and safe electrical work practices.
• Hands‑on experience with installation, maintenance & repair of electrical systems in commercial, industrial, or residential settings.
• Proficiency in troubleshooting electrical faults, diagnosing issues, and implementing effective solutions.
• Background in electrical engineering concepts or vocational training relevant to electrical systems and components.
• Recognized electrical qualifications (e.g., NVQ Level 3 or equivalent) and up‑to‑date knowledge of UK wiring regulations (BS 7671).
• Valid industry certifications and permits to work as an Electrician in the United Kingdom (e.g., ECS/CSCS card), or willingness to obtain them.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and specifications, with strong attention to detail and safety.
• Good communication, time management, and teamwork skills, with the ability to work independently on‑site and manage tasks efficiently.
