Are you an experienced Safety Engineer with a strong background in Defence systems and Safety Management? We're working with a key client in the defence sector based in Bristol, seeking a Safety Manager to join their Special Projects Tactical Communications (SPTC) team. This role offers a hybrid working pattern, two days per week onsite, and a contract term until the end of June 2027, with potential for extension. What youll do Lead the development and assurance of safety assessments, hazard logs, and Safety Management Plans across complex defence equipment projects. Provide expert guidance on Safety policy compliance, ensuring systems are ALARP and safe for operational use. Facilitate hazard analysis processes such as HAZOP, FTA, and FMEA to derive safety and environmental requirements. Engage stakeholders at all levels, including Chief Engineers and suppliers, presenting evidence-based safety arguments and supporting decision-making. Support governance activities, including internal reporting, safety panels, and delegation boards, ensuring all safety-related documentation aligns with MOD and Defence standards.
