Are you an experienced WOME Engineer seeking a challenging contract within the Defence sector? Evodia Limited is partnering with a reputable defence organisation in Bristol to find a SC cleared WOME Engineer, to support crucial ammunition assurance programmes. This role offers a day rate between £420 and £570 ex VAT (Inside IR35).
About the Role:
This position is based in Bristol, with a flexible hybrid working model, requiring 2 to 3 days onsite each week, plus occasional attendance at trials across the UK. The role runs until 30 September 2026, with potential for extension beyond that date.
What you'll be doing:
You will provide essential Weapons, Ordnance, Munitions & Explosives (WOME) engineering support, focusing on dismounted close combat and defence general munitions. Your key responsibilities include:
- Assurance of new ammunition to ensure safety compliance
- Gathering vital technical data for introduction to service
- Submitting safety and introduction paperwork, such as ASHE documentation
What we're looking for:
The ideal candidate will have proven experience in:
- Ammunition and light-weapon assurance
- Introducing WOME to service settings
- Attending trials within the UK
Additionally, hold a minimum of SC security clearance. Experience with the CADMID cycle, specifically the manufacture and in-service phases, is highly desirable.
Desirable qualifications include:
- A Science, Technology, Engineering, and/or Mathematics (STEM) qualification at RQF Level 4 or above (such as HNC)
- Professional registration such as IEng, CEng, RSci, or CSci through a relevant professional body
