Our defence sector client is recruiting for an SC cleared Deputy Chief Engineer to support the Type 83 destroyer as part of the Future Air Dominance System (FADS) programme. This is a contract role starting ASAP until the end of March 2026, with scope to extend. The position offers a hybrid working arrangement, combining work from home and site visits in Bristol and Portsmouth. The day rate is up to £770 per day (Inside IR35).
Responsibilities
Support required from a Deputy Platform Chief Engineer to assist with:
- T83 Engineering Plan and updates to the T83 Engineering Management Plan (EMP)
- Update of Platform Certification Strategy and Class Management Plan
- Design Trade Space Definition & Analysis (Initial) Report
- Crewing Model Impact Assessment (Engineering Perspective) Report
- Operating Cycle Influence on Design Document
- Create a Maritime System Maturity Level (MSML) Assessment Report and Presentation
- Record of Platform Inputs to Decision Conferences
- Update the Key Characteristics Document to support OBC submission
- OBC Platform Risk Statement
- Concept Phase Planning
