Our client, a leading defence organisation, is seeking a SC cleared Return to Manufacture Lead Engineer to join their team on a hybrid basis in Bristol. This is a key role supporting the UKs Sting Ray torpedo programme, with an immediate start and a contract until 31 March 2027, with potential for longer-term engagement. What youll be doing Leading enterprise-level analysis across manufacturing capabilities, supply chains, support, safety, and environmental assurance to establish a sustainable return to manufacture for the Sting Ray torpedo. Acting as the engineering integrator and providing systems engineering leadership within the project. Collaborating closely with stakeholders including BAE Systems, Navy Command, Defence Munitions, and Dstl to manage risks and constraints. Supporting the development of manufacturing processes, ensuring programme delivery, and enhancing future export opportunities. Applying systems thinking to complex defence equipment programmes, ensuring coherency and effectiveness across all activities. What were looking for This opportunity is ideal for someone with a strong background in: OME experience: proven aerospace or defence manufacturing expertise. Manufacturing processes within a defence context. Systems Engineering / Systems Thinking: demonstrated capability in complex programmes involving integrated systems. Experience managing stakeholder relationships across MOD and industry sectors. While not essential, valuable attributes include an understanding of the underwater battlespace, the UK torpedo enterprise, safety and environmental considerations, and integrated logistics support. Additional Details Location: Bristol, with flexibility for hybrid working. Clearance: SC clearance minimum. Day Rate: Up to Β£600 (inside IR35). Standard working hours: 7.5 hours per day.
