Are you an OME Engineer with a background in Armoured Vehicles and a security clearance? If so, we have an exciting opportunity to join a leading defence client based in Bristol, offering a challenging contract with the potential for extension up to 31 March 2027. This role provides the flexibility of hybrid working, requiring three days on-site per week in Bristol. The position is Inside IR35, with a daily rate of up to £420 (excluding VAT), and offers a rewarding chance to contribute to significant defence projects.
About the Role
As the AJAX OME Engineer, you will play a vital part in managing and delivering activities to extend the carriage limitations of various munition types, ensuring alignment with user requirements. Your expertise will help determine the most effective approach, balancing OEM analysis with in-service monitoring, to support the ongoing success of the programme. Additionally, you'll support the future contracting of WAVELL, particularly in capturing and addressing requirements related to NLAW carriage, including assessing the stowage, mounting, and environment for munitions on Armoured Vehicles.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and deliver activities to extend OME carriage limitations in line with user needs
- Support contract amendments, ensuring NLAW requirements are accurately incorporated
- Determine and apply correct technical legislation, regulations, standards, and policies throughout acquisition and support phases
- Conduct in-depth analysis of products and processes, providing recommendations to rectify issues
- Respond proactively to technical challenges and issues that arise during the programme
