We are working with a leading client based in Bristol, offering a dynamic opportunity that combines technical excellence with operational impact. This role is ideal for professionals who bring a broad engineering skill set and can make sound decisions at the waterfront, ensuring maritime safety and compliance.
Position Overview:
- Location: Bristol, with an option for hybrid working (2-3 days onsite per week)
- Start Date: 1 July 2026
- End Date: 30 September 2026 (with potential for extension)
- Day Rate: £420 to £570 per day (Inside IR35)
- Security Clearance: Minimum SC clearance required
- Working Hours: 7.5 hours per day
This opportunity focuses on supporting critical safety and certification maintenance periods on Royal Navy ships, involving both UK and foreign travel. Your technical expertise will be pivotal in delivering mechanical or mechatronic solutions that meet stringent maritime standards.
What we're looking for:
- Experience across a broad range of engineering disciplines, with strong judgement in the maritime waterfront environment
- Knowledge of regulation, legislation, certification, Class Society Rules, and engineering processes related to the maritime sector
- Hold a relevant Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics qualification at RQF Level 4 or above
- Proven track record in providing technical advice and leading the delivery of Mechanical or Mechatronic projects successfully
- Professional registration with bodies such as IEng, CEng, RSci, CSci, IMarEng, or CMarEng (or equivalent)
