Role Overview
Joining the Integrate Pillar of the AJAX programme, you will work to resolve cross-project technical issues, ensuring seamless system integration. You'll collaborate closely with project leads, chief engineers, and multi-disciplinary teams to identify, analyse, and resolve complex design conflicts. The role requires a proactive problem-solver with solid technical expertise and the ability to communicate effectively across different teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify, analyse, and resolve cross-project engineering issues impacting the programme.
- Support Project Leads and Chief Engineers through technical advice and recommendations for design conflict resolution.
- Collaborate across multiple pillars and functions to detect early design inconsistencies and integration challenges.
- Participate in focused Tiger Team activities to drive rapid resolution of critical issues.
- Facilitate effective communication between engineering teams to promote alignment and streamlined problem-solving.
- Document issues, resolutions, and lessons learned to enhance continuous improvement efforts.
- Contribute to risk management processes, addressing potential integration and design risks.
- Ensure solutions comply with programme standards and quality expectations.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Professional registration as an IEng, RSci, or IMarEng.
- Proven experience in manufacturing and production environments.
- Extensive experience providing technical advice and delivering successful mechanical or mechatronic outcomes.
- Background as an Army Vehicle Mechanic or Vehicle Engineer (desirable but advantageous).
- Understanding of MOD and DE&S procedures and organisational structures (desirable).
- Strong problem-solving skills with a collaborative approach to engineering challenges.
Contract Details
- Location: Hybrid working in Bristol - 3 days onsite, 1 day at Merthyr Tydfil, and 1 day WFH
- Start Date: ASAP
- Duration: Until 31 March 2027, with scope for extension
- Security Clearance: SC clearance minimum required
- Day Rate: £420 - £570 per day (inside IR35)
- Working Hours: 7.5 hours per day
