Are you an experienced Systems Engineer with a background in Defence, specifically within the realm of Counter UAS (C-UAS) and Ground Based Air Defence (GBAD) systems? We’re currently partnering with a leading client based in Bristol, looking for a Systems Engineer with SC clearance to support their critical projects supporting Ukraine and ongoing development efforts within the Ministry of Defence. This is an excellent opportunity to work on innovative systems in a collaborative environment, with the flexibility of hybrid working.

About the role:

  • Location: Bristol, with 2-3 days on-site per week and flexibility to attend meetings across the UK.
  • Contract Duration: Until 31/03/2027, with potential for extension.
  • Day Rate: £420 to £570 (ex VAT) per day, inside IR35.
  • Security Clearance: Minimum SC clearance required.
  • Working Hours: 7.5 hours daily.

The key challenges ahead:

You’ll be supporting a range of crucial activities including specification, assessment, and acceptance of C-UAS equipment, primarily supporting systems such as SYNERGIA and PRESAGIUM. Your role will involve developing requirements, writing tender documents, and leading verification & validation activities to ensure system performance and security standards are met. Deliverables will include management plans, WBS, requirements documentation, system artefacts, and safety/environmental cases.

What we’re looking for:

Essential experience:

  • Strong technical requirements writing skills.
  • Experience in tender assessment and acceptance testing (V&V).
  • Familiarity with Defence equipment and projects.
  • Ability to work independently as a self-starter.

Desirable experience:

  • UCR and/or IFU/TFK/Ukraine project support experience.
  • Knowledge of working with reputable Defence bodies like DE&S or Front Line Commands.
  • Experience with Sensors or C-UAS domains.
  • Understanding of integration protocols such as SAPIENT.
