About the Role

Our client, a leading defence organisation, is seeking a Contract DGM Safety Manager to play a key role in ensuring the safety and environmental compliance of a wide product portfolio that supports military operations worldwide. You will be instrumental in helping the team execute their Return to Green (RTG) plan by reviewing and updating Safety and Environmental Case Reports (SECRs), developing safety cases to support procurement activities, and engaging with regulators. This position offers an engaging environment where your safety expertise directly impacts operational readiness and safety assurance.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Reviewing and updating existing Safety and Environmental Case Reports (SECRs) across product families within the DGM portfolio.
  • Developing safety cases to support Outline Business Case (OBC) and Full Business Case (FBC) for ammunition procurement.
  • Updating hazard logs and conducting hazard identification and risk analysis.
  • Supporting the development of certification plans and engaging with the Regulator to secure safety assurance.
  • Contributing to safety review panels and achieving OME Assurance Statements (OAS).
  • Assisting in the implementation of the RTG plan to bring safety management back to an optimal state.

What We're Looking For

Essential Skills & Experience
  • Proven experience in Safety Management within DE&S.
  • Incorporated Engineer (or equivalent) with demonstrable safety case development experience.
  • Strong track record in writing and reviewing SECRs and developing safety arguments.
  • Knowledge in hazard identification, risk assessment, and accident analysis.
Desirable
  • Understanding of OME (Ordnance, Munitions & Explosives) regulations.
  • Risk management expertise.
  • Commercial and project management experience within procurement environments.
