Our client, a leading organisation within the defence sector, is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join their team in Bristol.

This role offers a hybrid working modele.

Role Overview

As part of the AJAX programme, you will contribute within the Integrate Pillar, focusing on resolving cross-project technical issues.

Your expertise will support the seamless integration of various design components, ensuring project success across multiple operational stages.

Identify, analyse, and resolve cross-project engineering challenges with a focus on integration issues.

Collaborate closely with Project Leads, Chief Engineers, and cross-functional teams to provide technical advice and support.

Assist in risk management related to design integration and conflicts.

Ensure solutions meet programme requirements while adhering to standards and quality standards.

Maintain awareness of current industry standards, best practices, and project specifications.

Hold a relevant engineering qualification (HNC or higher).

Be Professionally Registered as an Engineering Technician (Eng Tech) or equivalent.

Proven experience in providing technical advice and delivering successful engineering outputs.

Experience working within large, complex engineering programmes is valued, along with familiarity with military/defence assets.

Location: Hybrid (Bristol-based with one day per week at Merthyr Tydfil supplier site, and one day Wf H)

  • Security Clearance: SC clearance minimum
  • Contract Length: ASAP until 31 March 2027 (scope to extend)
  • Day Rate: Up to £420 (Inside IR35)
