Evodia Limited has partnered with a prominent client to find an experienced In-Service Engineering Manager who can oversee complex engineering activities within the dynamic environment of the Land Environment Directorate. This role offers a rare opportunity to contribute to the ongoing support and sustainment of the UKs advanced AJAX fleet, with flexible hybrid working options based in Bristol.
Initial contract until 31 March 2027, with scope for extension. Competitive day rate between £570 and £770 (inside IR35).
Key responsibilities:- Lead all engineering and support activities for the operational AJAX fleet.
- Ensure operational readiness and address in-service engineering issues swiftly and effectively.
- Collaborate closely with project stakeholders and lead cross-functional teams.
- Maintain compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.
- Provide technical leadership for in-service engineering activities.
- Work with project chiefs and stakeholders to resolve engineering issues, minimising operational impact.
- Coordinate with logistics, maintenance, and supply chain teams to meet support requirements.
- Maintain clear documentation and risk assessments related to in-service activity.
- Professional registration as CEng or equivalent, with a suitable engineering qualification (Level 6 or higher).
- Proven experience managing engineering teams within complex projects, ideally within Defence environments.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and interpersonal skills, capable of working with large, multi-functional communities.
- Experience managing engineering change, configuration, and asset management is desirable.
- Experience within an in-service or support environment, particularly within GMPP or CAT A programmes, would be advantageous.
