This is a Full Time Office-based role.
Summary of role:
A Sales Product Specialist will deliver a high-level of sales and quote to order conversions whilst providing excellent service to all potential and existing customers, increasing sales on ‘Special product lines’, achieving agreed response times, profitability and developing long-term business relationships.
The responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Achieving a KPI of 70% quote to order conversion rate
- Ensure all quotations are responded to within 24 hours to comply with KPI’s.
- Pro-actively manage and follow up your active quotations directly with the customer.
- Identifying the opportunity to upsell and cross sell on each quotation and send the same day.
- Achieving a pre agreed margin per category.
- Liasing with account managers on quotations above £2,500
- Ensuring CRM is fully updated to ensure a comprehensive audit trail.
- Actively supporting all marketing campaigns/outbound promotions by maximising take up where possible.
- Negotiate with suppliers to achieve the best business package for Banner including pricing, rebates, and payment terms.
- Understand and monitor product and supplier compliance in line with company terms and conditions and keep up to date with differences between EU and UK product certification.
- Investigate and where applicable resolve vendor & product specification queries.
Skills, knowledge and qualities required:
The ideal candidate will possess the following:
- 2 years’ experience in a similar role would be beneficial.
- Proficiency in accurately pricing, maximising profitability whilst protecting GP%
- Strong negotiating skills
- Understanding of the full cost of sourcing decisions (product, freight, duty, stock holding, handling, returns)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office for Windows (Outlook, Word and Excel)
- The ability to multitask, be organised, agree priorities, and meet deadlines.
- The ability to adapt to change.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Sound knowledge of customer base, customer needs and sales cycle an advantage
- Excellent knowledge of product, competitor, and dealer network
